Two feet above … The Beginning

Two feet above the ground is a better perspective than six feet under.

Taking time out from the race, the grind, the routine is useful to forge or form- your choice- a perspective on life.  If the goal of life is to lead a good one, and leading a good life most likely involves seeking some degree of wisdom, then taking pause to reflect on our experience and knowledge is probably a pretty good way to acquire wisdom, thus easing us on our way down the path towards that good life, or somewhere closer to it.  Equally, taking a break is good enough in its own right.

I have played many roles in my life so far: son, husband, father, student, teacher, employee, boss, mentee, mentor, etc., and I would like to pass along some of what I have absorbed osmotically through these chapters in the narrative of my life to my sons for them to do with whatever they wish.  And while I wish that they learn from it- even better, improve upon it-, they are free to ignore these words as I, undoubtedly, have squandered the sage offerings from my parents and elders.  Circle of life.

Eventually I will get around to posting observations from this or that perspective about this or that recent event, connecting it with such or another article or video clip that has crossed my screen.  Life is but a screen- in the digital age, at least.

Hope you will enjoy!

Welcome to Two Feet Above

You have found yourself on the site that once was George Rublee Capital Advisors.  That company has run its course.  I thank all the clients and contacts who made that experience worthwhile, but I have now moved around the world to fulfill my long held ambition of working in development finance.  Life in Asia is good.  Life as a development banker is even better.

But I will keep the website and morph it into something else.  A place for thoughts and reflections.

For those of you who have landed here in search of a financial advisor, I wish you good luck.

For those of you who are long lost friends and former colleagues, howdy. Sorry I don’t do better on Facebook and LinkedIn.

For those of you who have landed here by accident, there are no accidents.
